Color Project: Exhaustion

The emotion that I picked was exhaustion. The colors I used were on the muted side. Dark and somewhat moody: maroon, red, navy, gray and some black. The transparancy over the blocks of color are two shades of gray. As for the collective shape formed, I wanted to create a looming sense of fatigue. Thus, the blocks descend, falling at a a steep angle as they near the bottom and disperse.

Black & White

This first layout assignment is focused on the colors black and white with the in between color of gray. I wanted to experiment with a few shapes: circles and rectangles. I played with shading and the dark vs. light concept. I also wanted to convey the idea that a few shapes can make one collective shape or form. This, for instance is a curvy, snake-like shape. The outer edges consist of three rectangles attached together to form figures with six edges that frame the page.
